We grew up together and years later, built this together. Introducing Calma (Italian for calm, the feeling), created in collaboration with the founder of Studio Rapi. A piece that brings together two distinct approaches in a single form where structure meets stillness.
We designed this piece with calm and presence in mind. The proportions are intentionally taller, giving it a clear sense of height and balance. A vertically fluted base introduces rhythm and structure, reinforcing its quiet symmetry, while the shade remains minimal and clean.
The result is a lamp that feels grounded yet refined, holding its own within a space without overwhelming it. When we switch it on, we're drawn to the soft glow it emits, especially when placed near a wall where the light gently washes across the surface, revealing depth, shadow, and a calmer, more atmospheric layer of the space. That led us to name it 'Calma'
A balance of structure and subtlety, shaped by two perspectives - and resolved into a quiet sense of calm.
