Our Story
ONO stands for One Necessary Object.
We believe lighting is essential to every space, not just as decoration, but as something that shapes how a place feels, functions, and lives.

The name ONO is also an ambigram, it reads the same even when turned upside down. In the same way, lighting is never experienced from a single point of view. It is seen from different angles, used in different ways, and placed across different spaces. To us, a well-designed object should feel balanced and intentional from every angle, wherever it is placed.
Founded in Kuala Lumpur, ONO takes a considered approach to how each design is made. The components are produced using plant-based materials derived from renewable sources such as corn and sugarcane. Biodegradable under industrial composting conditions, this material is selected as a more environmentally conscious alternative to traditional plastics.
Lighting is often overlooked, yet it shapes how a space feels and functions. We design objects that do more than illuminate, they belong. Each piece adapts to different environments and ways of living, meeting everyday needs without excess.
